I have a neighbor, and you may be thinking, "Wait, I thought this was the fleece ladie's blog?" and it will be, but she doesn't know about it yet; anyway, this neighbor is the Fleece Queen! Her front room/sewing room is stacked with it. I often see her in front of her window sewing away. She makes warm, fuzzy, regular fleece blankets, minky fleece blankets, animal shapes : Hippos, cows, fish, elephants, lady bugs- not an animal, but in the animal kingdom. She makes neck pillows and baby pillows, as well as little softies and activity mats. Every year she thinks of something new. I probably don't even have it all on here, because I don't think I can keep up with her ideas!
She sells her fleece in the summer at the open market here in Idaho Falls, and does craft fairs. But she also gives a lot of it to humanitarian needs. Her heart is as big as the stack of fleece on her couch in December and she is always on the look out for someone who might need it. I remember a story she told me of some blankets she made and kept in her vehicle until she found who they belonged to, because she knew they belonged to someone. Then one day she was talking to a stranger and realized that was the person who would get them to their proper owners. She has even helped our family find just the right fleece for special people as well as whipped up some creations for me last minute. I am excited to help her show off her cute stuff with this blog! I will turn this over to her, when she is ready, but will happily man (or should I say woman?) it for her with my camera and computer until then.
Shannon, I hope that you like your blog, because I don't know how to ever pay you back for all the help you have been to our family besides fleece wonders, including carting my kids to school and back, and for a listening sympathetic ear, and all the other stuff you do; probably some of which we don't even know about! You are amazing! Merry Christmas!
